Racing Yacht
 
This oil on canvas painting of a sailing yacht racing off the New England coast measures 24" x 12" or in the period wood frame dimension of 27-1/4" x 15-1/4", signed lower right M.G. Friedrich. Friedrich was a German/American born in 1908 and is well known for his racing yaught nautical paintings.  There particular painting has a 'Schertle Galleries 1243 Boardwalk Atlantic City, N.J.' stamp on each of the canvas frame stretcher sides verso. The painting does have some craquelure but otherwise is in good overall condition with vibrant colors and is a quintessential example of the artist's work
