Biography:
Born in Blooming Glen, of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Mildred Gehman was known for her oil paintings of Bucks, Berks, Lancaster and Lehigh counties and for her still-life studies of fruit and floral still lifes.
She lived most of her life in Allentown, Pennsylvania and later in Reading, Pennsylvania. She studied art with Walter Emerson Baum and was a faculty member of The Baum School of Art in 1946 and taught still life to youth and adult students for about ten Years. She was a member of the Lehigh Art Alliance & The Woodmere Art Galleries of Chestnut Hill.
Exhibition venues included The Allentown & Reading Art Museums, Muhlenberg College, Lehigh University, Woman's Club of Philadelphia, Lansdale Art League, Bucks County Educational Building and Reading Area Community College.
Her work is in the Bucks County Schools - Circulating Art Collection and The Baum Art School Circulating Picture Club & Schwekfeld Manor (Lansdale, PA).
