This antique New England grist mill landscape oil on canvas depicts a wooden water wheel powered by the stream and the old grist mill barn with mountains in the distance. The painting measures 30" x 24" and wood frame 33" x 27" and is signed and dated lower right Vivian F. Porter (19)24.
 
Vivian Forsythe Porter was an American Impressionist & Modern painter who was born in 1880. Known for her seascape and landscape paintings,Vivian Forsythe Porter's work has been sold at auction multiple times and her paintings are a part of many private collections. The artist died in 1982.
