William Lester Stevens N.A. (American, 1888-1969)
 
This colorful landscape watercolor on paper is by well listed New England artist William Lester Stevens.  The artwork is done of a very common theme by the artist, a lone maple tree standing along a desolate lonely farm lane that leads to a distant farmstead.  This impressionist watercolor is very nicely done, measuring 11"x 14" or in the gold plaster frame dimensions of 20" x 24" and is signed lower right, W. Lester Stevens N.A.  Apart from some toning and faint foxing the watercolor is in good condition with vibrant colors and is a quintessential example of the artist's work.
